Quality Tests for Strategic Plans
Use the following criteria to test the quality of a strategic plan:
- Is it too generalised, so it can mean anything to anyone?
- Is it too specific and detailed, so will date quickly?
- Does it focus on a limited number of critical issues?
- Does it consider raising income as an integral part of the strategy?
- Do people genuinely believe that it is realistic and can be achieved?
- Does it have a clear implementation timetable?
